The Talent Show is tonight.  This year it will be performed at the High School gymnasium.  Please park around back, as if you were attending a sporting event.

Have a Great 4 day weekend!

Friday, March 22, 2013

Welcome back from Spring Break.
The first day of Spring was Wednesday, then we get a snow storm on Thursday.  Such are the joys of living in the Ozarks.
We are starting the fourth quarter by working with long division, ratios, and patterns in Math.
In Communication Arts we are working on commas and punctuation marks. (Check out the Links)
In Science we are looking at weather and weathering.  In Social Studies the subject is Ancient India.

A look ahead to next week.  If we don't have any more surprise winter weather, there will be a four day weekend over Easter.

Friday, March 8, 2013

School will not be in session next week, March 11 - 15.

School will be back in session on Monday, March 18.

Third quarter grade cards will go home on Tuesday, March 19.

Have a safe Spring Break!

Another shortened week with the second snow day in the past two weeks.
In Language Arts, the students are still working on the DLR, spelling, word search, and writing in their journals.   The spelling test was taken on the Spelling City website.
In Math, we have been working on 2 and 3 digit multiplication, percentages, decimals, and fractions.
Social Studies is still studying Egypt.  Science is working on metamorphic rocks and minerals.

Next Friday will be a half day for students, with school dismissing at 12:30 p.m.  Friday also marks the end of the third quarter.  Grade cards will be sent out on Tuesday, March 19th.

As a reminder, Spring Break will be the week of March 11 through the 15th.

With a 4 day week turning into an 'ice day' 3 day week, we are adjusting to the curriculum.
In Language Arts we have been working on the DLR.  We utilized Spelling City for or spelling.
(As a reminder, I have a link set up for Spelling City on this blog.)
In keeping with the theme of Black History Month, we watched "Rubie Bridges" and then wrote 2 paragraphs about what we learned from the movie.
In Math we are working on 3 digit by 3 digit multiplication and percentages.
For Social Studies we are still in Egypt and the subjects are pyramids and sarcophagus.
In Science the topic is minerals.

The school year keeps marching along.  The end of the third quarter is less than three weeks away.  The quarter ends on Friday 03/08, right before spring break begins.  In addition, Friday 03/08 will be an early out for students.
